"I have the impression Stone Breath sound continues to grow, possible because of extra attention to a second faster picking guitar added to it, with some female voices that can reach neo-pagan-like celebrative but also medieval music flavours (on the last track), with a growing sensitivity towards an almost middle eastern kind of psychedelically droning dance ... A very enjoyable release suited for repeated listening." (Psychedelic Folk)
Stone Breath's 2011 CD The Aetheric Lamp has the kind of assured flow that comes from not simply exploring a preferred sound but both refining and varying it. That's little surprise given the band's lead figure Timothy Renner's nearly two decades exploring the possibilities in what has been summed up, for convenience's sake at least, as acid folk; the combination of calm, focused singing and elegantly unusual arrangements remains paramount still, a mixture of the traditional and something other."
