Her en kjapp gjennomgang:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vinylknut.com\/pix\/recog.gif\" width=\"14\" height=\"14\" border=\"0\" \/><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> Mye namedropping i en-siders artikkelen om <strong>Nolan Potter&#8217;s Nightmare Band<\/strong>, i anledning deres nye album <em>Nightmare Forever<\/em>. Inspirasjonskildene listes i fleng: Pink Floyd, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Moody Blues, Mothers, Yes, King Crimson, Gong, Soft Machine, Hawkwind, Genesis &#8230; for \u00e5 nevne noen. (Jethro Tull nevnes ikke, men bruken av fl\u00f8yte gj\u00f8r at de like godt kunne tatt med dem ogs\u00e5.) Da skrus forventningene h\u00f8yt, men selv om de bare skulle n\u00e5 halvveis opp vil det v\u00e6re bra. Og dette 7-manns sterke ensemblet fra Austin, Texas, klarer det, absolutt verdt en lytt for psych\/progrock-interesserte. Albumet er omtalt lenger bak i bladet, og f\u00e5r full pott, 5 stjerner: &laquo;Much of <em>Nightmare Forever<\/em> sounds like The Oh Sees covering Weather Report while The Fifth Dimension groove along in the background &#8211; a sunny afternoon at a jazz festival lost on quaaludes.&raquo;<\/li>\n<li><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vinylknut.com\/pix\/recog.gif\" width=\"14\" height=\"14\" border=\"0\" \/><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> 5 stjerner til <strong>The Electric Banana<\/strong>: <em>The Complete De Wolfe Sessions<\/em>, en 3xCD utgivelse som &laquo;comprises the six LPs recorded by various incarnations of <strong>The Pretty Things<\/strong>, beginning just after the <em>Emotions<\/em> era and continuing to almost the end of the 70&#8217;s.&raquo; Her samlet med lyd fra originale mastertaper, etter signede med bedre lyd enn alle tidligere utgivelser. &laquo;Phenomenal, and a real treat to hear all in one place.&raquo; Ikke s\u00e5 mye \u00e5 lure p\u00e5, n\u00e5r man ikke har noe av dette fra f\u00f8r.<\/li>\n<li>50th Anniversary Edition av <strong>The Band<\/strong> sitt selvtitulerte album fra 1969 f\u00e5r bare 4 stjerner. Selv om det er noe interessant bonusmateriale her s\u00e5 er det her som med den tilsvarende jubileumsboksen av debutalbumet <em>Music From Big Pink<\/em> (1968), de nye miksene\/mastringene av selve albumene er ikke noe \u00e5 hoppe i taket av i forhold til de originale. Jeg st\u00e5r over begge disse, og klarer meg lenge med 70-tallet pressinger av disse to fantastiske albumene.<\/li>\n<li>4 stjerner til norske <strong>Lucifer Was<\/strong> og nyutgivelsen av deres album fra 1997, <em>Underground And Beyond<\/em>: &laquo;Sounds pretty damn authentic &#8211; crunchy Sabbath-esque riffing, stentorian Viking vocals, and not one, but two flautists.&raquo; Flott at spanske Sommor n\u00e5 har gitt albumet ut p\u00e5 nytt b\u00e5de p\u00e5 vinyl og CD-formatet.<\/li>\n<li><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vinylknut.com\/pix\/recog.gif\" width=\"14\" height=\"14\" border=\"0\" \/><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> 5 stjerner til Particles 5xCD boksen <strong><em>C&#8217;mon! C&#8217;mon! The Roots of Scottish Rock and Pop 1963-1970<\/em><\/strong>. Med hefte selvf\u00f8lgelig: &laquo;There are some wonderful and intriguing nuggets of information to be gleaned from the text, as well as a ton of absolutely magnificent sounds to be enjoyed.&raquo;<\/li>\n<li><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vinylknut.com\/pix\/recog.gif\" width=\"14\" height=\"14\" border=\"0\" \/><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> 4 stjerner til <em>40th Anniversary Edition<\/em> av <em><strong>Frank Zappa<\/strong>: Zappa In New York<\/em> (1978). Her kan man lett plusse p\u00e5 en stjerne for den utvidede triple vinylutgaven (var opprinnelig en dobbel-LP), som er presset direkte fra analoge mastertaper. Supre pressinger ogs\u00e5 (i hvert fall for den europeiske utgaven), og lydkvaliteten er up\u00e5klagelig. 5xCD boksen inneholder enda flere spor: &laquo;A generous ration of bonus live recordings and numerous alternate versions &#8230; this motherlode is a veritable feast guaranteed to satisfy the appetite of even the most ravenous of Zappa-tistas&raquo;. Men 3xLP-en holder lenge for en gjennomsnittlig Zappa-interessert, og er et eksempel til etterf\u00f8lgelse i forhold til hvor bra en nyutgivelse kan gj\u00f8res.<\/li>\n<li>4 stjerner til nok et <strong>Hawkwind<\/strong> album: &laquo;Celebrating 50 years of active service, the space-rock legends return with their 32nd studio album.&raquo; <em>All Aboard The Skylark<\/em> &laquo;marks a return to the classic sci-fi informed psychedelic rock and proto-punk.&raquo;<\/li>\n<li><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vinylknut.com\/pix\/recog.gif\" width=\"14\" height=\"14\" border=\"0\" \/><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> Nesten like produktive har <strong>Green Pajamas<\/strong> v\u00e6rt gjennom dr\u00f8ye 35 \u00e5r. Vinylutgaven av<em> Phantom Lake: Northern Gothic 3<\/em> (2018) er n\u00e5 tilgjengelig, og 2xLP-en kommer med diverse bonusspor. 3 stjerner her synes litt lunkent, tror jeg oppjusterer denne til 4.<\/li>\n<li><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.vinylknut.com\/pix\/recog.gif\" width=\"14\" height=\"14\" border=\"0\" \/><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> 4 stjerner til <em>Planet England<\/em>, en 10&#8243; EP som er er samarbeidsprosjekt mellom <strong>Robyn Hitchcock<\/strong> og <strong>Andy Partridge<\/strong>. Skal noe til at dette blir d\u00e5rlig, &laquo;a record of sunny delights&raquo;.
